Fedora is more than open source; it is COMMUNITY source software. Fedora is implemented and supported by a vibrant, collaborative, international community of stakeholders from a wide variety of organizations, including academic and cultural heritage organizations, universities, research institutions, university libraries, national libraries, and government agencies.
Fedora is free and open source but we rely on the support of our community to fund and support our efforts. Institutions primarily support Fedora by joining Lyrasis as members and allocating funding to the project. Developers also contribute to the project by building features, fixing bugs or joining the conversation at our weekly open tech call which takes place every Thursday at 11am Eastern.
